I have tested various methods of making loose leaf tea and this tea maker won in terms of tea quality, ease of use and in cleaning. If you have a busy lifestyle,as I have, this tea brewer makes loose leaf tea accessible to you on a regular basis. I take a spoon of tea and fill the tea brewer with boiling water. For 1 cup I fill it half way. I leave it at least 5 minutes for black tea and no more then 3 for green. When ready I place the unit on my cup and the tea filters through the base. Due to it's conical shape, cleaning the wet leaves into the bin (or compost) is very easy. I tend to give it a quick rinse most of the time and place it in the dishwasher every few days. The base parts and lid are very easy to disassemble. Whether you are new to loose leaf or a tea nut, I would highly recommend this for day to day use.

To use follow these simple steps
Step 1: Place 2 Tablespoons of your favorite loose leaf tea in the brewer and pour hot water in the brewer. Use boiling water for black tea and off the boil for green tea (80-90C).
Step 2: Let tea steep for 4-9 mintues for black tea and no more then 3 for green. Adjust your steeping time according to the type of tea and desired strength.
Step 3: Place brewer on top of your tea mug. The brewer will release the tea into your cup. Remove brewer when cup is full. Enjoy your perfect brew. Note: Green tea can be re-infused, sometimes improving the taste.
