Coffee Kids is a charity that aims to improve the quality and life of
children and families who live in coffee growing communities around the
world.
It was founded in 1988 by Bill Fishbein, a Speciality Coffee Roaster
and Retailer from America. He had travelled to Guatemala and had seen
for himself the connection between coffee - farming and poverty. Coffee
Kids was created as a way for coffee businesses and consumers to give
something back to the families who grow coffee.
Coffee Kids staff work with non-governmental community organisations in
Latin America to create education, health care, training and
microenterprise programmes for coffee farmers and their families. The
projects respect the cultural integrity of their local partners, foster
independence and promote long term self-sufficiency.
As a Coffee Club member, you have the option to recieve a discount on
all products purchased, or to donate that difference to Coffee Kids.
