A truly distinctive coffee. This has a romantic history. In the days of the British Empire, this coffee took six months to arrive back in the U.K in the slow spice boats of India. The ships had to travel around Africa's Cape of Good Hope and the resulting changes in temperature and humidity changed the features of the raw bean. The coffee mellowed and the British loved it. In order to recreate the flavour, the beans are left in huge warehouses with open sides during the monsoon months.
The resulting aroma is highly distinctive and maybe not its strong point, but the coffee has a great taste and is much loved. This coffee is full bodied, with a spicy, woody flavour.
