The different flavours offered by the various regions of Ethiopia can be explained by the variations in processing methods. This natural processed coffee from the Dara region has the most amazing strawberry, cream and fruity smell with an incredible and unusual fruity chocolate flavour and a hint of figs. With this sort of coffee we recommend that people who take milk should try this as a black coffee to really appreciate the taste.
OCR (Operation Cherry Red) is a small scale project with the aim of getting the very best coffee out of Ethiopia. The farmers are invited to participate in the programme in which they are required to hand-select only the ripest red cherries , then carefully process the coffee to produce a speciality coffee. In return as well as getting a higher price, they are offered finance for new hardware and access to specialist knowledge.
