OCR (Operation Cherry Red) is a small scale project with the aim of getting the very best coffee out of Ethiopia. The farmers are invited to participate in the programme in which they are required to hand-select only the ripest red cherries , then carefully process the coffee to produce a speciality coffee. In return as well as getting a higher price, they are offered finance for new hardware and access to specialist knowledge.
