'And now for something completely different' comes to mind often when it comes to Sumatran coffee. Earthy, spicy, rich and bold. It is quite often edgy, however in this case relatively smooth and balanced. This is one of our all-time favourite Sumatrans. If you have not tried Sumatran coffee before, this is a good one for you.
Unusually
for Indonesia, most of the Wahana’s coffee is fully-washed
using the estate’s brand new wet milling facility, which can process an
impressive 25 metric tonnes of red cherries per hour. The estate employs
between 800 and 1000 workers, whose families have the use of an on-site health
clinic. The estate also runs a small farmers’ support
centre and this helps promote good relationships and practice.
The
farm has the following aims:-
1. To
deliver clear traceable coffee supply chains to the customers.
2. To
produce and deliver speciality coffee
beans with different varieties to choose from and using different types of
processing methods (washed, semi-washed, natural) producing a zero defects
quality.
3. To
practice Organic & Rainforest Alliance cultivation in the Wahana Coffee
Estate plantation.
